2018 Olympics: Nathan Chen Breaks Down His Record Breaking Free Skate Program | TIME
Yeah the US media once again prove their ignorance and arrogance by totally ignoring all the other accomplished skaters, including the real record holder Yuzuru Hanyu (two-time Olympic champion, anyone?).
Without his narration, sorry, hard to detect much artistry in that dance. It's just quads and preps for quads. Nothing against him personally, but it is an annoying American trait- to try and gloss over a failure by hyping up a new dubious record and touting it as some sort of "new standard" for the sport. Americans, don't turn figure skating into who-can-cramp-the-most-quads-into -it.
Kristen Collins how was he robbed ? He screwed up his short program all on his own, when his jumps don’t work there is nothing left to garner enough points, at this stage he is just a jumping frog , he should aim to be an all rounded skater
10 year old me was like “ohhh ice skating...pretty *eyes wide while watching it on tv , “ it couldn’t be that hard do, after all I’m REALLY good at roller blading , “MUM can we go ice skating for my birthday?”
Mum “if that’s what you want sweetie”
*my birthday comes around and now I’m standing on the ice. I take my first step and BAM. 10 year old me gets kicked in the ass by someone falling over behind me and falls like a star fish, nearly gets her fingers chopped off.
Long story short after crying for a bit I clung to the side for dear life during the rest of our time there.
Now 15 year old me has come to realize that anything that involves keeping your balance while moving is not good for the klutz that is myself
Just a question...What exactly did he do wrong in the jump series at 2:43 ? I noticed that he got a red in the bars at 2:50 following the sequence, but I couldn't see what was wrong/worthy of a deduction. Does anyone happen to know?
He is such a beautiful human being, I love his personality and understanding of figure skating. He is truly amazing at expressing his emotions with his skating. I'm proud of you Nathan! Supporting you always✨✌
I feel so bad for him! He did so well and yet people are only focusing on his one mistake during the olympics? Like in the video he's extremely good??? And for his age, he PHENOMENAL????? He's young, and I hate how in the olympics everyone only focused on his mistake
The focus is on his botched Olympics because the US media hyped him as the sure fire winner while snubbing defending Olympic champ Yuzuru Hanyu and totally ignoring world-class skaters Shoma Uno, Javier, Fernandez, Patrick Chan, Boyang Jin etc. This kind of arrogance and ignorance bit them in the ass when Chen bombed and Yuzuru won it again by a mile even though he was injured.
