Today I want to talk about one of my favorite sources of protein and anti-stress amino acids. It's super easy to absorb and add to meals. It's called Collagen. https://truthnutra.com/collagen
You can typically find collagen in supplemental form as well as from animal products like bone broth.
First benefit of collagen is that consuming collagen will help with your skin and hair. As we get older, our collagen levels decline so that's why you see lots of signs of aging as collagen becomes deficient. Collagen has also been found to help lower cellulite and promote skin elasticity.
Second benefit is that collagen helps joint pain. It is like the glue that holds things together so when you're collagen deficient you start to have joint pain.
Third, collagen helps with your gut. If you have IBS, Chron's, leaky gut etc try using collagen since it helps maintain the structure of your gut lining.
Fourth, you're going to see an increase in muscle gain and maintaining strength with collagen. Collagen contains arginine as well, which is very important for boosting the body's ability to build proteins and tissue.
Fifth, it helps common things like your hair, nails, and teeth. They've found that there is a hair follicle regeneration with collagen.
Sixth collagen is good for the liver. It helps regenerate cells in the liver. Especially if you do something like a bone broth fast where you rest digestion but give lots of nutrients.
Seventh collagen benefits blood flow.
At Truth Nutra we have a hydrolyzed collagen protein. https://truthnutra.com/collagen

People have no way of knowing if they are low in collagen. There isn't a collagen test or specific sign to look for.
I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and I feel this video misleads people. You can't replace your diminished collagen by taking supplements or putting it in your food. It will simply get flushed out in your urine.
With illnesses such as mine which is a genetic collagen defect, we are born lacking sufficient collagen which progressively gets worse over the course of our lives.
EVERY doctor and specialist I have seen in my lifetime for the abundance of co-morbidities due to lack of collagen, have all said collagen supplements do nothing for the body.
If collagen supplements worked, people with my condition and the conditions that are related to mine such as Brittle Bone Disease (Osteogenesis Imperfecta aka OI) and Marfan's Syndrome, Scleroderma etc. would be easily treated with supplemental collagen replacement therapy. There is no such thing, simply because taking collagen does not do a single thing for boosting "low collagen".
Collagen is connective tissue. It is everywhere in the body. It makes up all the wall's of every vessel in our bodies and our skin, muscles, tendons, bones are connective tissue, and even our nerves and spinal cord. It's EVERYWHERE.
It frustrates me to see videos promoting things that somebody with an illness may look to as a sure way to get better by wasting a ton of money on a product that will not help them.
It has no benefits to you, or to me, or to the body builder at the gym or the guy or girl next door. And it has zero benefits to people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or any other connective tissue disease like mine.
I'm sorry to seem harsh, but I can just see so many young people who are suffering greatly in severe pain with constant daily dislocations and subluxations, and/or frequent very painful injuries, coming across this video or ones like it offering them false hope.
Man, your disease is really nasty and soryy to say it this way, it seems to really suck and all I can do is wish you the best.. no need for me to go into details. But I do have a question in regard to what you've stated, you said that collagen supplements don't do shit at all, which I assumed but didn't bother looking into, however, does this apply to whole foods as well? meaning, if you eat food that naturally has collagen, doesn't the collagen in it have any positive effects at all, or are you just referencing mere supplementation? I assume that collagen in food won't do much either, but you never know.. sorry for bothering you with this question.
I am a bone broth Enthusiast now. My skin has improved 25% over the last two months. I don't have aches and pains and I'm old enough to have them but I have never had them. I am very blessed
With noticeably good health.
My question is what percentage of bovine bone broth is absorbed into the body? I do plan to buy the powdered form that you mentioned because it's just more convenient but can you help me with the percentages on the meat collagen?
thank God for editing because you should have seen what came out the first time LOL
Q: Why need collagen?
A: Collagen is an important fiber protein found in our bones and joints.
It is also the main component of our skin, which accounting 80% of the skin's dermal layer.
M-Coll can supply the collagen our body needs, which can help us to keep our skin young and healthy.

Someone needs to make a vid of the side effects of collagen. I didn't find out until it was too late that one of the side effects is cystic acne.
I noticed that instead of clear glowing skin, I was getting red cystic bumps and dark spots along my jaw line. When I inquired on the internet, I discovered others suffered from the same reaction.
I had already finished the 1 container and was 2 scoops into my 2nd container. I immediately stopped taking the collagen and am now in the process of healing my face and fading the dark spots.
Shame on me for not researching this product more thoroughly ahead of time.
Whoever is reading this, please learn from my experience and research collagen before taking it, especially if you are prone to acne.
That is very good to know, thank you. I don't eat the powdered collagen yet so maybe I would recommend that you are possibly consuming more than necessary. I had some spots coming onto my arm from being in the sun and after 2 months they are gone. I am, however, way too old for acne, but everything has side effects and I will investigate
I have been getting great results with "Great Lakes grass fed Collagen Hydrolysate.
It's a good price. Is yours better or should I stick with what's working?
Here is the label info: http://bit.ly/Collagen4JointsAndSkin ...
I have hip pain, but months of collagen has done nothing to lessen it. Only difference is I'm gaining muscle when previously not taking it made no difference. My hair has started to regrow, but it's not down only to collagen - silica, keratin, milk thistle and stinging nettle suppliments.
I take hydrolyzed collagen and astaxanthin... joint pain and CTS are completely gone. ( it does not help my hip when it gets inflamed though...bahumbug ) My hair, skin and nails are much improved. I will never be without either This may sound too good to be true but idn wear 2.00 reading glasses anymore...the Astaxanthin product has lutein added to it and I believe that is what cleared the vision in my aging eyes...
There is something i dont understand, why is me and my brother are intolerent to Ashwagandha? After two days of taking it i become really irritable and pist off, depression .. ive tried different times and always the same, i like for the fact that you feel freakin no stress but i become really angry and depression, it doesnt do that to other people, do you think its because i have too much acetylcholine or why?:)
Hi Chris, big fan of your work and videos. would really appreciate it if you could put together a quick video on how to tackle acne through diet and lifestyle changes . keep up the good work and videos
When you make chicken , save the carcass...freeze. When your ready to make your broth place in a pot of water and simmer on low....do not boil. ( up to 12 ours. season as desired. I use pink H salt , black pepper...onion , garlic. Strain in butter muslin for clear broth.
And with beef ask the butcher for beef bones ( grass fed etc....if you know a rancher who butchers ...even better). I season the bones add some water in the pan and roast bones on the oven for a couple hours , then place all in pot of water add pink H salt , pepper again simmer on low for around twelve hours.... Again strain for clear broth. I place mine in 2 quart mason jar (s) . Lasts in fridge for around three days. But it is so good youll drink it before then. I have used the bones twice to make two batches. Good stuff My broth gels nicely.
Seb Hazel ... It's very easy. Just take whatever meat you choose...prepare it by cutting out the bone and put them in a crock pot of broth or water. Let it cook all day and don't forget to season with garlic, Himalayan salt and other spices. Take the bones out and strain if desired. It's really good for making soups or just sipping on a cold day. Make sure your meat is organic...and refrigerate afterwards. Hope this helps you!
I like the way he talks, it's a bit unusual for Youtube but it feels more natural as if I was listening to someone real. Also makes it easier for people watching from other countries (like me from Turkey).
