If, however, you're older and have any kind of medical illness, it could be cardiovascular disease, it could be diabetes, it could be hypertension, and even the medications that go along with treating those conditions, you may then fall under what we consider, either the vascular, the endocrine, or the neurological. These are also reasons that some men are having difficulty obtaining erections. The first and foremost, I would have you go to your urologist to be evaluated, because they have tests, both in terms of blood work or Rigiscan, which would ultimately let them define what is, for you personally, contributing to your difficulty. The part I want you to get is, treatment is available. So don't panic. I can assure that will not help your situation, and realize that there's treatment available.

I also work with people who have difficulties with arousal, which include problems obtaining or maintaining an erection, difficulty with lubrication as a woman, and importantly, also, timing of orgasm. For some, that means difficulty having an orgasm at all. For others it might be it doesn't feel like it's of their choosing. So, it could be either too soon or it's delayed and the frustration of feeling like they can't get enough stimulation or sensation. I also work with people who sometimes have vaginal pain or discomfort. There really is a whole range of clients, including those who just have questions about their sexuality and how to experience more sexual pleasure in their bodies and with their partners. Be open to reaching out to a sex therapist and asking them a question about their level of training and whether or not it feels like it's a good fit. Because it's quite possible that, on your own, you may be using a level of speed and pressure that a partner really isn't going to be able to duplicate. And so, it's one thing that it's a psychological aspect of your arousal. But, it may also be that you're so into that imagery and that story, you haven't even noticed how it's changing your level of physical stimulation and pressure. So, take a step back and recognize that all of this can be under your control. And, from most, it just means taking a period of absence from their porn use. Just like a reset. To see how it feels and fits into your life. And, making sure that it feels like it's part of a healthy balance.
