In this video, belly dancer Irina Akulenko teaches you how to do hip lifts and a basic shimmy. You'll be shaking it like Shakira in no time. So, now, we are going to go over the basic hip lift. Let's assume our basic belly dance posture position. So, the legs are right under the hip bones. Knees are bent. Lower abs are tucked, chest lifted, arms out. And now you are going to bend the knees even more than before and focus on lifting one hip at a time by straightening one knee at a time. So, as you straighten the right knee, the right hip will come up and it is going to shoot straight up into your body. So you want to think about meeting your hip bone up to the ribcage coming back down to center. Switching over to the other side, straightening that knee, coming back down. Make sure you're keeping your heels on the floor and you are not lifting up with any point. And again, lifting the hip up and back down to neutral position, the other side back down to position. Now, skip that hold in the middle and you're going to go up, and up and up, and up. And, the closer your are to the ground, the easier it will be to find that isolation. Let's try that with music. And a little bit faster, keeping your heels on the floor, chest floating out, arms relaxed. Make sure you are not moving in space and your head is not bopping up and down. And faster. And full speed. And that is the basic hip isolation.

Our expert is going to show you a scale he calls the pentatonic pattern #1. It's a practical scale he uses every single day. Once you learn it, you no doubt will too. Next on the list is scales. So scales ‚Äì there's many, many, many books of scales, big encyclopedias of scales, but I'd like to show you the most practical scales that I use every single day. The very first scale I ever learned, I like to call it pentatonic pattern number 1, but it's just a pentatonic scale, or a shape of one. Let's dive in. I'm going to do it here at the 5th fret. So I'm on the 5th fret of the 6th string. And I'm going to use my first finger. Then the next note is not the 2nd fret away from that, not the 3rd fret, but the 4th fret. So on the 6th string I have the 1st and the 4th. Then I move down to the 5th string. And I'm going to do 1, 3 ‚Äì so notice I'm using my third finger. Then the next string, 4th string: 1 and 3. And then 1 ‚Äì 3 again, but on the 3rd string. Then 1-4, but on the 2nd. And then 1-4 on the 1st. So you see, 1-4. That's why I'm saying those numbers, so I have: 1-4; 1-3; 1-3; 1-3; 1-4; 1-4. Now if I want to go backwards, I just start with this note and work my way back. So I go: 4-1; 4-1; 3-1; 3-1; 3-1; 4-1. Now, this is a movable shape, just like bar chords or power chords. I can move this anywhere on the guitar and the shape doesn't change. That's the beauty of the guitar. Let's say we do it at the3rd fret. So I'm going to do it: 1-4; 1-3 ‚ and backwards. How about the 7th fret? And then how about we try Open. That's a little trickier because I have to pretend that my first finger is playing, sort of. Can you see the pattern here? I have in this imaginary spot, 1-4; 1-3; 1-3; all the way down. Of course we're not going to play it like that. We're going to play it a little more natural, right? So it's O-3; O-2; O-2; O-2; O-3; and O-3. That's the same exact pattern. It looks a little different. That's a little thing about the guitar, you always have to compensate for the open aspect. And then I'm just going to work my way backward. 3-O; 3-O; 2-O; 2-O; 2-O; 3-O. There you go. Pentatonic Pattern Number 1.

Lets shift the weight over to the left foot, step the right right in front, keep the heel lifted. Bend both knees, especially the bend in this knee- you want to make sure this knee remains bent no matter what throughout the entire movement. This is the most important part. Step the other foot right in front, heel lifted, chest up, shoulders back, stretch your arms all the way out. Make sure your still breathing when your here. Now we are going to push our weight into the right leg, straightening a teeny teeny bit to go into the hip lift. Now from here your going to release all the way dropping the hip down. Again lifting up and down, up and down. And no matter what the left leg is staying bent. The left knee remains bent no matter what. And up and down and up. And lets try that with music. And double temp. And faster. And again make sure your not bouncing up down in space. The head remains at the same level. The chest is lifted and isolate it away from the rest of your body. And thats how you do a basic hip drop.

Belly Dance Moves: Interior Hip Circles From: Irina Akulenko So now lets try interior hip circles. Keeping the knees bent, legs are underneath the hipbones, chest lifted. We are going to contract the right hip up, contract the lower abs in, contract the left hip up, and come back to neutral. Lifting the right side up, contracting the lower abs, keeping the upper abs relaxed, left side and release. One and two and three and four. In contrast to the exterior hip circles; the hips would actually roll. Exterior hip circles, keep the hips parallel to the floor and the interior hip circle we're actually going to roll the hips under. So, let's try that with music. [Music] [Slowly making internal hip circle movements] Make sure chest is lifted; arms are still and let's try it faster. [Continues with faster hip circles] Let's try going the other direction [Slowly does hip circles in the other direction] and roll. [Continues with rhythmic rolling of the hips movement] And you can go faster. And that's how you do an interior hip circle.

Watch more How to Get a Job videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/498518-How-to-Ace-a-Second-Interview-Job-Hunting The second interview is really important because in the first interview they've gotten to know you and now they're calling you in again because they think that you're a potential candidate. But chances are, you're probably up against someone who is equally qualified, someone who they're considering to be on par with you so now it is time to pull out all the stops to make sure that you are the person who gets the job. And how you do that is to make it very explicit why you are the perfect person for this job. Chances are in the second interview, you're interviewing with someone else in addition to first person or the first few people who interviewed you. What they want to do is show you off. They think that you're a great fit and what they're trying to do is either get their boss or someone else from the team to validate their decision. So in that first interview, you should have been, and I hope you were, watching for tell tale signs that you're on the right track. So when someone is nodding their head, moving forward, their posture is indicating that what you're saying is right. And what you wanna do in that second interview is to repeat the same stories that seemed to trigger a positive response in that first interview. One of the other secret little tips is often times the interviewer who had you in the first interview, they will say, 'tell us the story about when you did this', and you wanna make sure as much as possible you tell that same story. And you enhance whatever it is that you told in the first place again but make it relevant to the company you're actually applying for. So make it relevant as much as possible. What you're trying to do is make the fit. The second interview is actually really easy because you've gotten all the indication from the first interview about what went right. What I want you to do in the second interview is to make it more right. Keep going in that same direction. That's how you ace a second interview.

In this video, belly dancer Irina Akulenko teaches you how to do the belly dance move known as the Basic Egyptian. You'll be shaking it like Shakira in no time. So now we're going to learn how to do the Basic Egyptian. Come back to the neutral position keeping the knees bent, once again chest lifted, lower abs in. And you're going to touch the right foot in front, and come back, touch the left, and come back. Touch the right, and come back, touch the left, and come back. Keep the knees slightly bent at all times. And now as you touch you're going to push the hip up, and release, and the other side. And as you push up, that hip is going to go to the opposite, upward diagonal. So if you're squeezing your right hip up you're going to aim at the left upper corner. And reverse it, when you're squeezing the left side, aiming at the right upper corner. Chest is lifted, and adding that small lift and twist. Once again, you want to make sure you're not bouncing in space, the chest is lifted, the head is still. And once again from the side. And now we're going to add arms. Same active side of the leg will be active with the arm as well, so the right hand will be reached right in front, the left will touch the top of your head, and then you're going to switch. Pushing right in front, and down. From the side. So now we're going to start both the hand and the leg at the same time. Reaching forward the right side, with a twist, and switch, with a twist. Let's try that with music. And there are various arm positions for this movement, so you can see lots of different variations, but this is one of the most basic versions. So this is how you do the Basic Egyptian.

In this video, belly dancer Irina Akulenko teaches you the basic posture necessary to belly dance correctly. You'll be shaking it like Shakira in no time. So before we get started, I'd like to talk to you about the basic belly dance posture. Keeping the knees really bent is very, very important in order to be able to do a lot of the belly dance isolations. So, what's important is keeping the legs right under neat the hip bones, keeping the knees really bent and keeping the weight on the inside of the foot. So if you should shift your weight all the way forward onto the toes now come back all the way back to the heel. Find the center, find the place where you're in the middle of those two extremes, this is where you want to be in terms of you feet. Keeping the knees bent is very important in terms of isolation for your hips, the lower you are to the ground, the bigger a lot of the hip movements will be. Additionally you want to tuck the tail bone under, keeping the lower abs engage throughout most of the movements. What you want to do is think of contracting about an inch below the belly button and bring the line on your pants and the hip scarf to a horizontal to the floor. So you don't want to contract to hard where you have absolutely no room to go in anymore but you don't want to have a full curve in your lover back, so knees bent, tucking under. Next is your chest, take a really deep breath inhale all the way up, allowing the rib cage to float all the way up and now exhale all the way down. Now lift slightly above where you normally are, you should fell a slight engagement between your shoulder blades and the rib cage should be floating a little bit above where you would normally be standing. Once again knees bent, tail bone under, chest lifted, shoulders roll down the back, arms out. You want to have lots of space between the elbow and your waist. You don't want to be too close but you also don't want to have your arms straight out. So, there should be a slight bend in the wrist and in the elbow, lots of energy through the finger tips. You might want to drop the middle finger toward the thumb in order to create a more graceful line; additionally you want to keep the chin slightly lifted. And this is what your normal belly dance original position would be. Additionally when you're practicing all these isolations please be patient with yourself because it takes a long time to develop the range of motion that I'll be illustrating here.

Our expert shows you just how to line them up. How do we use those two patterns we just learned? Pentatonic pattern 1 and pentatonic pattern 2. Every key, every musical key has a relationship both with major and minor. So at the same time that you might be in G major you're also in E minor, and there's a relationship for every single major key to another minor key. Right? So we can use that a little bit to our advantage if I use my 1st pentatonic scale. Right? If you remember its: 1, 4, 1, 3, 1, 3, 1, 3, 1, 4, 1, 4. My 1st finger is the minor root. So, at this point I'm at the 5th fret of the 6st string. That's A, so this is A minor, and then my pinkie is going to be the major root. I know this sounds complicated but just bear with me here. This is C major. Right? So A minor, C major. That relationship never changes. No matter what kind of instrument you play A minor and C major are eternally bonded. So, A minor, C major. I found that on the 6th string. OK, now pentatonic pattern 2, the roots happen to be on the 5th string. OK? So let's find A minor, or C major, on the 5th string. So, the 5th string is already A, so we could use that, but, you know, dealing with the open string in the beginning can be a little difficult, so why don't we shoot up to the 12th fret. Remember that's A again. Right? So, here's A minor. C major for pentatonic pattern 2, and, of course we don't have to start there. We can do the whole scale, the full scale, so, the whole scale is 1, 4, 1, 4, 1, 3, 1, 3, 2, 4, 1, 4. Right? Remember that? So, songs are written in keys. Right? A family of chords that belong together. For example, songs can be written in the key of G. All chords belong together, and they are all sort of centered around G. Right? Everything I do to that song, over the top of it while somebody else plays guitar, or maybe somebody singing, and now, it's my turn to solo. I'm going to do it in G major. Right? So, I'm going to find G. Right? So, let's say here is G, on the 6th string, and because it's major, I'm going to use my pinkie. Right? Remember, pinkie is major, 1st finger is minor, so I'm going to use my pinkie to line this up. Right? Now, in this case again, I've got that open string so it's going to be a little bit of a problem. We can still do it, but just so you can really see it, I'm going to move it all the way up here, to the 12th fret. Right? Remember that's where the guitar starts again. Here's my 1st pentatonic scale. 1, 4, 1, 3, 1, 3. Right? Do you remember that? And then, we can also do it with our 2nd pattern. Right? Here's the A string. That's where we're going to get the note from. So, A, B, C, D, E, F and G. We found G again. I'm just going to put my pinkie on it. Right? That's our major finger, and so now I know when I line it up, I'm at the 7th fret. So, here's where my pentatonic pattern 2 will go. 1, 4, 1 4, 1, 3, 1, 3, 2, 4, 1, 4. And that's it. That's how you line up your 2 pentatonic scales.

Watch more Hurricanes & Storms videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/471526-How-to-Survive-a-Hurricane Don't wait until a storm is heading your way! Survive a hurricane with these safety precautions. Step 1: Plan ahead Plan ahead. Know the location of local shelters and how you'll evacuate if you don't have a car. If you have family members with special medical needs, ask local officials if there's a registry so they get help in the event of power outages. Pick a place for family members to meet in case you become separated, and designate an out-of-town friend as the person everyone calls to report that they're safe. Get flood insurance if you don't already have it. Tip Make sure you know how to shut off electricity, gas, and water in case you're instructed to do so. Step 2: Be prepared Have the following supplies on hand at the start of hurricane season: a 3-day supply of water that provides 1 gallon per person per day; a 3-day supply of non-perishable food that doesn't require cooking; a flashlight and extra batteries; a battery-powered radio that can receive broadcasts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; a first-aid kit; and a 7-day supply of medications. Tip The Atlantic and Central Pacific hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30; the Eastern Pacific is from May 15 through November. Step 3: Get ready If a hurricane warning is issued -- meaning one is expected in the next 36 hours -- bring in anything that can be tossed around by the wind; close and board up all windows and doors with 5/8" marine plywood, unless you have hurricane shutters; clear rain gutters and downspouts; trim trees and shrubs; put your refrigerator and freezer on the coldest setting; and fill your car's gas tank in case you're ordered to evacuate. Step 4: Go to a safe place If you live on the first or 2nd floor of a high rise, make plans to take refuge with neighbors between floors 3 and 10 when the storm begins. Residents who live above the 10th floor should evacuate, as should mobile home dwellers and anyone living on a floodplain, near a river, or on an inland waterway. Step 5: Do last-minute preparations Shortly before the storm is expected to start, fill your bathtub with water so you have an extra supply on hand. Unplug small appliances and sensitive electronics, and turn off propane tanks. Step 6: Ride out the storm When the storm starts, stay away from windows and glass doors and avoid using the phone. Go to your home's lowest level and stay in an interior room, closet, or hallway. Have a mattress or pillow to protect your head. Monitor weather conditions on your radio and don't leave your safe place until local officials say it's okay to do so. Step 7: Avoid post-storm dangers If you lose electricity, keep circuit breakers turned off until power is restored, then check for frayed wires. If you see any, call the power company. Leave the house immediately if you smell gas. If you're returning home, don't enter your house if floodwaters remain around the building; you see loose power lines or structural damage; or you smell a gas leak. If you have any safety concerns at all, stay elsewhere until your home is checked by a building inspector or structural engineer. Did You Know? 2/3 of the hurricanes that hit land in the United States between 1981 and 2011 struck the Gulf Coast. The other third hit the Atlantic Coast.

Check out the official app http://apple.co/1NmhCgz Watch more How to Line Dance videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/497855-How-to-Do-the-Good-Time-Line-Dance-Line-Dancing Hi, my name is Robert Royston. I'm a five time world champion of country dance, working with artists like Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley. I really hope that you learn how to line dance and experience what it's like to move to America's music, and that's country music. So one of the most popular line dances in the last five or six years has been good times done to Alan Jackson song, "Good Times". So let's break this dance down for you. Starts with walking forward with your right foot, little touch steps. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Then we're gonna do little side points. One, two, three, four, with a turn, five, six, seven, touch eight. Then do the same thing. One, two, three, four, turn the other way, five, six, seven, eight. Now we're gonna do hitches right, with the lifting of the leg, right, little tiny hops you might say but kind of opening the leg up and going behind. One, two, three, four, five, six, then we're gonna do a little cross, seven, with a quarter of a turn, eight. So we're gonna do a little cross hop to a quarter turn hop seven, eight. Starting with your right foot, cha, cha forward with a break step, cha, cha back a break step. Then we're gonna do little side step boogies. Side step with a boogie, close. Side step with a boogie, close, and the dance starts over, forty-eight count dance. So try it one more time, by the way it's a four wall dance. So we're gonna go one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One and two, three, four, five and six, seven, eight. One and two, three, four, five and six, and do it again. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One and two, three, four, five and six, seven, eight. Wiggle, wiggle, close, wiggle, wiggle, close, and the dance starts over. So we're gonna go ahead and try this to music. Obviously we're not gonna be doing it to Alan Jackson's "Good Times". We'd like to be able to do it a little bit slower for you to be able to practice this at home, here we go. Five, six, five six, seven, go. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Cha cha cha, and back, side, close, boogie, and again. Touch, touch, touch, touch, side, side, and turn, side, side, and turn. And pitch, pitch, pitch, cross and cha, cha, cha, back it goes. Side, side, and again, touch, touch, touch, touch, point, point, and turn, point, point, and turn. And hitch, hitch, hitch, and cross and cha, cha, cha, back it goes, boogie, and close, and boogie, and close, and it starts over. There you have good times.

Watch more What You Need to Know About Knives videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/497077-How-to-Use-a-Sharpening-Stone-Knives Learn how to use a sharpening stone in this Howcast video with expert Dan Delavan. Hi. My name is Dan Delavan. I am the Owner/Operator of Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa, CA. We have a great selection. We also have a website; plazacutlery.com. Today we are going to be talking about knives. A sharpening stone is a stone that has got a coarse side and usually a finer side, and that is going to take and re-shape your edge and get it back down thin enough in order to sharpen it. You are basically taking something that is blunt and thinning it back down. You have to remove all of this extra metal and get it back down to where it is thin enough to cut. Very simply, all a knife is is a very thin piece of steel to split whatever you are cutting. If the knife is obviously thicker, it is like trying to cut something with a chisel; it is not going to happen. There are two stones. There is the India and there is the crystolon. Once you feel them, obviously the difference is coarseness. The one thing about the India stone, it is a harder stone and the brown is the finer side, you have to use oil with it. You cannot use it dry, so therefore it is messy. The coarse stone will cut the metal off quicker but it is going to give you a rougher edge but that way the job gets done quicker, without the oil. It is not as messy. This is just a real simple set up. If you do wood work you can make a little wooden box and rout it out. In this particular case it is just a 2x4, stone traced out, finishing nails tapped down so they are deeper than the stone so when you drop the stone in, if you are at a workbench you can C-clamp it down in place or you can hold on to it. So you are going to start at the heel and you are going to time it so that it goes all the way across. You go from one side to the other. You also want to make sure that your stone, I am not going to use as much pressure as I normally would because I cannot mount it on this showcase, you want to alternate from side to side to keep your bevel centered. Some people will take and do three times on one side and then three times on the other, the problem is that your backhand is never as good as your forehand and you end up cheating and you are going to end up with a blade that is offset. That is going to take it and thin down, you are going to get a thin bevel right on the edge. Once you get that V established, you can go from the coarser side to the finer side. It is the same thing; you want to alternate from one side to the other. Just keep working it until it smooths out. Usually it does not take quite as long on this side because you are just smoothing it out. As you go through the finer stones, if you just choose to do that you are just polishing. The other question is angle; how do I know what angle to use? It is a real simple guide. If you can imagine this was a big cube of butter and you know how it goes bad? You are just going to filet the top of it off. Again, there are people that do it other ways that work for them great. This is a tried, true simple way of doing it.

Watch more Disaster Survival & Worst-Case Scenarios videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/447721-How-to-Survive-in-the-Desert-without-Water Don’t trust mirages; if you need to survive in the desert without water, these tips could save your life. Step 1: Don’t eat Avoid eating as much as possible. You can survive longer without food than without water, and the digestive process uses water. Step 2: Try not to sweat Minimize perspiration by relegating physical activity to nighttime. And keep your clothing on -- it helps slow the evaporation of your sweat. Wrap a piece of fabric around your head if you don’t have a hat. Using your urine to dampen your clothes will further reduce sweating. Tip Don’t drink your urine; your body will use more water to remove the waste material than it will gain. Step 3: Dig for water If you spot any green plants or dry lake beds, dig there until the soil becomes moist, and wait for water to seep into the hole. It may provide enough water to survive in the desert until you get out or are rescued. Step 4: Forget about cactus Forget the myth about getting water from a cactus: You’ll probably lose more hydration from the ensuing vomiting than you'll gain from the few drops you manage to drink. Step 5: Follow bees Look for flies or mosquitoes, which means water is nearby. If you see a bee, follow it; bees fly in a straight line to and from water, so it will lead you right to a source. Did You Know? An Austrian teenager survived a record 18 days without food or water in 1979, when police forgot they'd put him in a holding cell.

Watch more How to Fly a Plane videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/452394-How-to-Pick-a-Flight-School-Flying-Lessons Hi, my name is Josh Kallenberg and I'm here at the Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, California. I've been flying professionally for about 13 years, and now I have the pleasure of flying this Gulfstream G450 which is a lot of fun and exciting. And today I'm going to talk to you about becoming a pilot. So how do you choose a flight school? Well, there are several ways you can go about doing this. You can look online. If they actually still have phone books, you can look in there. You can maybe talk to someone you know that is a pilot. That's one thing pilots like to do, is they love to talk about flying. There's a kind of running joke; how do you know there's a pilot in the room? Don't worry. He or she will tell you. One thing you need to consider is where you live geographically. How is the weather where you live? That plays a big part especially when you're doing your primary training. One of the better places to learn is Southern California, or Arizona. Places where you're generally going to get good weather. One thing you want to do in part of your research is actually go to the school, and visit several schools if you can just like visiting a college. You're going to go ahead and talk to the students. Talk to the instructors. You want to kind of get a feel for it. Look at the conditions of the facility. Look at the aircraft. It's kind of like looking at a car. You're going to kind of have an idea if they're in good shape or bad shape. One thing you're going to do when you pick a flight school is take an intro flight, which I strongly suggest, and what they're going to do is they're probably going to pair you up with a flight instructor, and that will be your first taste of what flying is going to be like. You will most likely fly the airplane for the majority of the flight, which is a lot of fun. You also want to bring your log book, because if you want to continue you can actually log that flight for instruction. Don't feel bad. If you don't like your instructor, if you don't feel comfortable, you can always ask to switch. It's not going to hurt their feelings. It would hurt my feelings, but it won't hurt their feelings if you did that and it's really important that you feel comfortable and trust your instructor when you're going through your training.

My name is Robert Royston.I'm a 5-time world champion of country dance, working with artists like Taylor Swift, Carey Underwood, Brad Paisley. I really hope that you learn how to Hawaiian dance and experience what its like to move to America's music, and that's country music. So now that you've learned the basic two-step, were going to teach you the closed turn, or a closed basic turn. So what's gonna happen here, were gonna take our basic of quick-quick, slow-slow. Quick-quick, slow-slow. But as we step our last slow, that's my right foot, her left foot. Im gonna start to take the ladies a little more to my right. So Imma go quick-quick, slow-slow. So I kinda moved her out of the way. Im gonna do that coming right at you so you see what I'm doing. I'm gonna go quick-quick, slow-slow. So I just try to move her to my right 'cause I'm still heading forward. As that happens, as I move to the right on that slow-slow, I'm now going to start coming right up alongside of her on quick-quick. Kind of turn her to face line of dance as well. On the slow-slow, I'm going to face her. Slow-slow. So now I'm going backwards. Quick-quick, slow-slow. Quick-quick, slow-slow. Let's think of it like this, I'm gonna take the ladies and I'm gonna open 'em like I'm opening a door. I'm gonna open the door which is my right arm. But I'm gonna be the door that closes in front of the right arm. So although I'm opening the ladies, I'm closing the door. So from here we're gonna go quick-quick, slow prepare slow. Open, quick-quick, guys close, slow-slow. And going backwards quick-quick, slow-slow. Quick-quick, slow-slow. Now turning back around we do the exact opposite. I'm the first door to open and then she closes the door. So as we are going backwards, I go quick-quick slow, same thing on slow. I start to prep myself open on the second slow. She passes quick-quick, closes slow-slow. And now she's going backwards again quick-quick, slow-slow. So the first one she opens, and I close. The second one I open and she closes. So we can two-step around the floor, opening up, guys in front, stay here for a little while, have a good time. Guys open up, ladies close, and we are back to our basic. So that's the basic couple's closed turn. Have fun!"

I'm Julia Szabo, also known as a Pet Reporter, and I am the "Living with Dogs" columnist for dogster.com. I've actually written 6 books and I'm hard at work on my next one. It will be about about dogs -- that's as much as I can say right now. I love dogs and I think nobody's life is complete without one. So I'm here to tell you about a variety of different dogs breeds that might suit your lifestyle. I hope you'll adopt one soon. Pit Bulls are my favorite kind of dog. Pit Bulls are extraordinary to me, but unfortunately, a lot of the world really doesn't like Pit Bulls. This dog is the most feared and irrationally loathed and legislated against dog, literally, in the world. Tragically, the reason why so many people have been able to successfully misuse and exploit, and abuse Pit Bulls is because Pit Bulls are so loyal to their owner. If the owner is a criminal who wants to do bad things, sadly, the dog doesn't want to do those things. But because the owner wants to do it, he wants to please the owner, so he'll do it. But, if the owner is a really great person, who wants to go to hospitals and visit old people and young people who need a smile, they'll do that gladly. That's their favorite thing to do. They will do search and rescue work. They will just be your friend. They will come running with you, they will sit on the sofa with you. A lot like mutts, they are very very versatile and adaptable. In a weird way, they kind of are mutts, because they're a hybrid of Terrier and Bulldog. The complete name is American Pit Bull Terrier. I never said Pit Bulls are totally easy dogs to have. They're very very strong. They can be very strong willed. You have to be firm, but gentle. And you have to show the dog that you're the top dog, you're the boss, and so he listens to you. But you also, you don't wanna be rough with him. You don't wanna use cruel training methods. No shock collars, none of that. You just want to harness that energy for good. Believe it or not, in World War I, Pit Bulls were a symbol of American strength and patriotism. So here we have this dog with this incredible history, incredible legacy. Let's appreciate him. Let's go to our local animal shelter, which sadly, is like, as much as 90% Pit Bulls. And, you know, give him a home.

Find the motivation to absorb information and improve retention. Step 1: Skim info Skim information slowly at first to remember what you read. Never use this as a primary means of absorbing information, but always as a preparation for gathering key points. Tip Machines that train the eyes to scan and select meaning and context rather than picking out the smaller letter arrangements help speed reading and deepen concentration. Step 2: Read word groups Read word groups rather than single words by developing the habit of snapping the eyes across or down the page. Step 3: Categorize and associate Categorize and associate information you read with other knowledge in your life, to establish familiar cues for retrieving facts. Step 4: Take notes Take succinct notes on significant facts and information when reading books or studying for exams. Say the words aloud to hear yourself and help commit it to memory. Repeat the process. Step 5: Study with purpose Study with purpose and confidence, interacting with the material. Compare and contrast what is being memorized and paraphrase for simplified understanding. Grill yourself with questions to reinforce the lesson. Tip Avoid lazily highlighting everything. Highlight key passages, words, or phrases. Step 6: Visualize to recall Visualize faces with names that have to be remembered. Link important dates in your assignment mentally by picturing significant calendar events, birthdays, or holidays near the newly learned dates. Step 7: Keep single focus Concentrate with purpose on one thing at a time -- a paragraph, a sentence, or a word. Disallow any distractions, focusing on the meaning, and test to make sure you have it before moving on. Step 8: Pick the time of day Pay attention to the times of day when you're most alert and schedule your study time accordingly. Work in short bursts at first to expand attention and grasp. Did You Know? More than 300,000 iPads were sold on the first day they hit the market.

Watch more How to Teach Your Child to Read videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/460479-How-to-Teach-the-Alphabet-Reading-Lessons Hi. my name is Anne Glass. I'm a reading and learning specialist at a private school in New York City and I work with Kindergarteners through 3rd graders on Reading, Word Study, and Writing Skills. In addition to be a reading specialist and learning specialist, I'm also a parent and today I'm going to talk to you about topics in reading Being able to name the letters in the alphabet is one of the critical predictors of reading success. There are several different activities that you can use to teach your child the alphabet. Most people like to start teaching using the alphabet song which is a completely acceptable way to start. In fact, most children in this country know that song; could sing it in their sleep, probably. That is a perfectly fine way to start as long as you move quickly away from singing the alphabet to saying it. Because if your child can say the alphabet without relying on a melody then you can be certain that he knows it for sure. I always like to use visual aids and I think that any teaching, when it can be multisensory, is going to be much more effective. If you can have your child say the alphabet, each letter at a time while pointing to it, they're getting that tactile feedback and also the auditory feedback from pronouncing the letter name, looking at the letter and touching it with his finger. Another really helpful manipulative are these 3D letters. These are mine and they're just regular block letters that you can do out of order or move around. So they can be easily manipulated. And again it's a letter identification task. Another great teaching tool I like to use is this alphabet mat. It's got the alphabet in block letters across the top as both a reminder and also a point and say task. And then you can also go back to your 3-dimensional letters and, as a separate or additional activity, put the letters in sequence going around the arc. So up here is my "M", I place the "M" on the "M". "A" and then "B" going all the way around. Knowledge of the sequence of the alphabet is also going to be really helpful to your child going forward. Simple flash cards are also a great tool. These are my upper-case flash cards and you just go one by one and ask your child to name the letter as you go through. For more advanced alphabet learners, this is called a missing letter deck. You are prompting the child with two letters to give you the third one that's missing. So in this case it's "D", "E" and your child will say "F". Go on to the next one: "F", "G"... "H". And so on. Again, knowledge of letter names is one of the most important predictors of how quickly and easily your child will acquire early reading skills. And it's important that letter names be taught explicitly and directly, starting in preschool.

My name is Shallon and I'm here to help you with all the questions you might have about love, lust, romance, and everything in between. For more, visit me on twitter @downtownshallon or be sure to check out my website shallononline.com. Ladies, it doesn't matter if you're tall or short or fat or thin or have braces or glasses or club foot or hooks for hands because you know what the most important thing is when it comes to flirting? Your body language. Here is a pose that you, as a woman, need to master. Shoulders back, right. And you know that your shoulders are back properly if your thumbs are pointing forward. Put your weight on your back leg, tilt your head down and look up at the boy you're talking to. Boys love this look because it's very coquettish and makes you seem just a little bit vulnerable and just a little bit mysterious but, it's not so overt that you look a little...like you're trying too hard. So, chin down, eyes up and make sure your mouth is just slightly parted. There's a big difference between this, which kinda makes you look like scared child, and this. See? Huge difference. How much do you want to date me right now? I mean, come on. Can I flirt with you anymore? Also, make sure that when you're talking to a guy that you occasionally, don't do it too much but, just a little bit touch your hair absent-mindedly or your neck or your collarbone. The neck and the collarbone are very sexy places for boys, without being too overt. I mean, you don't want to stand there going like this. You know what I mean. Not attractive. Not attractive. But this, this, 'Oh, uh-huh. Yep. Yeah, your soccer game. Yeah, that sounds fun.' My gosh, he will be putty in your hands. One more trick that I learned from, actually, Angelina Jolie is to ever so absent-mindedly bite your lip when you're listening to him. I don't mean like this. I mean, you don't want to look like you're having a panic attack or something. But, just a very subtle like, uh-huh. Yeah. I still do this and honey child, I still have boys follow me.

Warning People who are on fluid-restrictive diets or have a problem with fluid retention should consult a physician before increasing their consumption of fluids. Step 1: Stay out of the sun Stay out of the summer sun. Find shade and, if you have to be in the sun, make sure you're wearing sunscreen and a hat. Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing to reflect heat and sunshine. Step 2: Stay hydrated Drink plenty of water -- even if you're not thirsty. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and sugary drinks as these tend to dehydrate you. Step 3: Eat right Avoid proteins and other foods that require an increased metabolic rate for your body to process. Increased metabolic heat production also increases water loss. Step 4: Use cool water Take cool showers or baths, spritz yourself with cool water from a spray bottle, drape your head and neck with towels soaked in cool water, and soak your feet in cool water baths. Tip Avoid extreme temperature changes, which may make you feel nauseous or dizzy. Step 5: Use air conditioning Use an air conditioner, or stay in well-ventilated rooms with fans if you don't have air conditioning. Spend the hottest part of the day -- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. -- in air-conditioned places such as movie theaters or shopping centers. Step 6: Use cooling centers Locate a pool or cooling center in your area if you live in or near a larger city. Many municipalities use public libraries or other city buildings as cooling centers during heat waves. Step 7: Avoid strenuous activity Avoid physical labor, exercise, or other strenuous activity during the hottest times of the day. If you have to perform strenuous activities, do them between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. Step 8: Care for friends, neighbors, loved ones Check on the elderly, children, and people with special needs frequently during a heat wave. Now, go round up the neighborhood children, get some ice cream, and stay cool! Did You Know? During the summer of 1896, a heat wave that lasted for 10 days killed almost 1,500 people in New York.

Well, depends on which program you take, but you're going to have to complete a certain amount of hours, flight hours, which will include instruction given and some solo flight time. And when you get a minimum of between 35 and 40 hours, although it takes most people at least 60 hours on average, you're going to go ahead and take a written exam. A written exam is about two and a half hours, and once you pass that you're going to take an oral and a flight exam with an FAA designated examiner. Let me add something about the written test, you might be nervous or it sounds pretty ominous,it's really not that bad, and your instructor is not going to let you take any of these tests until you're comfortable and he or she feel that you're ready to take it. Some of the tests involve math, which I was not good at when I was younger. You still will figure it out, it's really not that hard. It just takes time and dedication and discipline to learn some of the concepts, learn some of the terminology, but all stuff that with time, practice, and studying, you'll get it. It's not bad.

Lawrence Grecco has been practicing astrology for more than 20 years. In this video, he talks about the personality traits common in people born under the Gemini sign. My name is Lawrence Grecco. I live in New York City, and I'm a Life Coach and an Astrologer. I've been practicing Astrology for over 20 years. You can check out my website at zenrising.com. I'm here to talk to you today about Horoscopes. So Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac, so if you were born between May 21st and June 20th you're a Gemini. Gemini is symbolized by the twins because Gemini people have a dual nature. It's almost like Geminis are two different people. And very often a Gemini would like to have more than one of any given things. This could be more than one job, more than one hobby, even more than one thing to eat for dinner. So I know a Gemini who would prefer to have five different appetizers over one entree because she likes that kind of variety. So the duality in Gemini is about wanting to connect things, connect information, connect people. So there is this very sociable, social, intellectual quality to Gemini. They're all about communicating and networking and talking and learning and teaching. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, which is the messenger of the Gods, because Gemini is very interested in processing information, communicating, writing, speaking; all of those areas of life are very important for Gemini. They can be very bubbly, very animated, very lighthearted, they kind of like the lighthearted side of life. They would rather know a little about lots of different things than to go into depth about any one given subject. So Gemini's are very much about self expression and about communicating with people and connecting to people and connecting information. So one the downside Gemini can sometimes be a little bit scattered, restless, easily dissatisfied. It's hard for Gemini to hold their attention; you might even call them commitment phobic. Some famous Geminis include Johnny Depp, Mel Blanc, Marilyn Monroe and Brooke Shields.

Learn how to fingerpick -- play guitar with your thumb and fingertips instead of a pick -- in this Howcast video tutorial. Ok, so let's talk about fingerpicking. This is a big big topic in guitar world. There's many guitarists that only fingerpick and they can get do a pretty amazing thing with just fingerpicking. But so, were are just gonna introduce a little bit of the ideas here, and so obviously you don't need a pick right. We are just gonna use our fingers. To, play separate notes for each chord to get some kind of rhythm's or some interesting ideas, right. So i am just using the same chords that we have been using G,E minor C and D, but now let's try to do something fancy with our fingerpicking right, i am gonna play rythm of pattern right 'm goin, dha dha dha dha, dha dha. Now how do i thing of that well, i am trying to copy the strum that i did. The first strum which was, PA, PA PA PA PA, PA, PA PA PA PA. So i can copy that exactly or you know i could change it little bit to get the same accents DHA DHA DHA DHAA, DHA DHA, DHA DHA DHA DHAA, DHA DHA, alright, that's all i am doing. Now i am gonna make G chord here right and so, my pattern is gonna be the six string with my thumb, then i am gonna use my index finger, to play the third string. Then i am gonna use my middle finger to play the second string and then, i am gonna use my ring finger to play the first string, alright. So i am going DHA DHA DHA DHA, DHA DHA right.Thumb, index, middle, ring, middle, index, right. And we could try with E minor the same exact pattern. Right, how about with C, now the thing with C is, i have to change the pattern of it a little bit right. I am just bringing my thumb down to the fifth string that's where C is, that's why i am doing that, right. So C is in on the fifth string up the six, so, that's why i have to do there. The rest are the same right, and then for D same thing i have to move my thumb. Because now D, the note D is on the forth string, but everything else stays the same, right, so if i put it all together what do i have. I have G right, remember our rhythm, then i am going to E minor. Then C, then D, so one more time we have G, E minor, C, D. So that's how you get started with fingerpicking.

Step 1: Coil the wire around the battery Coil the wire around the D-cell battery several times. Remove the coil and wrap the ends around two sides of the coil to hold it in place. Leave 3 inches of wire lead on each end. Step 2: Strip and coat the wire ends Strip both ends of the wire coil leads. Hold the coil vertically and coat one half of one lead with a permanent marker. Apply a second coat of ink. Tip The ink coating is very important as it allows a break in the magnetic field to keep the coil spinning. Step 3: Place the magnets Turn a plastic cup upside down and place one disk magnet on top while putting the other inside the cup, against the roof, to hold both magnets in place. Tip A clear cup works best to display your work and to prove there are no other mechanisms. Step 4: Straighten the paper clips Straighten the outside ends of both paper clips to form a "P." Attach the paper clips to the cup using 2 large rubber bands to build a cradle for the wire coil. Step 5: Balance the coil in the paper clips Balance the coil inside the paper clip cradle loop. Adjust the height so the coil just misses the magnets when it spins. Attach an alligator cable clip to each paper clip just above the rubber band. Step 6: Connect the battery Connect the D-cell battery to the coil using the other two alligator clips. Be sure one end is connected to the positive side and the other the negative side of the battery. Give the coil a gentle spin. Step 7: Adjust the motor Adjust the balance of the coil and the distance between each paper clip cradle. Experiment with the configuration until you have a working motor. Did You Know? Step 1: Get a container Find a large plastic container for your upside down plant. Ready-made planters are sold at gardening stores, but you can make your own out of almost any kind of large plastic cylinder. Tip Reduce, reuse, and recycle by using a 2-liter soda bottle, milk jug, plastic bucket, hanging plant basket, or even a heavy duty trash bag for your planter. Step 2: Cut a hole Use a drill, hacksaw, or sharp knife to cut a half-inch hole in the bottom of your container. Tip A soda bottle or milk jug already has a hole, but you need to saw off the bottom of it to create an opening at the other end. Step 3: Make holes for hanging line Cut small holes just under the lip of the large open end where you can attach your hanging line. If your container is a bucket, it already comes with a convenient hanging handle. Step 4: Attach hanging line Thread hanging line made of a strong material such as twine, bendable steel, or leather through the container. Step 5: Attach a hook Find a beam or line in a sunny location where you can grow your plant and attach a sturdy metal hook on the underside of it. Now you've done the setup and are ready to plant. Step 6: Insert plant Lower your plant into the bottle upside down and gently pull the green stem and leaves through the hole. Tip Choose a plant variety that yields small vegetables at intervals, since larger varieties and plants that ripen all at once can put too much strain on the stem. Tomato, cucumber, and pepper plants are popular choices. Step 7: Add soil Spread out the roots in the upper part of the container so they have room to grow. Add soil to the container until it covers the root system. Tip Mix some compost into the soil to help the plant grow. You can also place strips of newspaper around the root ball to keep it upright and prevent soil from washing out through the hole. Step 8: Make topper plant Plant a small herb or flowering plant on top of the soil above the vegetable roots. Doing so not only helps retain moisture in the soil, but also maximizes space and adds a pleasing visual effect. Tip If you don't add a topper plant, cover the container with cheesecloth, mulch, or another breathable lid to prevent rapid evaporation. Step 9: Hang and water Hang your upside down plant from its hook and water it daily through the top opening until it literally bears the fruit of your efforts. Did You Know? Lawrence Grecco has been practicing astrology for more than 20 years. In this video, he talks about the personality traits common in people born under the Virgo sign. My name is Lawrence Grecco. I live in New York City, and I'm a Life Coach and an Astrologer. I've been practicing Astrology for over 20 years. You can check out my website at zenrising.com. I'm here to talk to you today about Horoscopes. Virgo is the 6th sign of the Zodiac, so if you were born between August 21st and September 20th that makes you a Virgo. So Virgo is symbolized by the virgin which is usually depicted carrying a sheaf of wisdom or even an ear of corn sometimes and that represents the harvesting of late summer. So above all Virgo is very concerned with issues of health and hygiene. Um Virgos very much need to feel productive and industrious they want to feel like something that contributes someway in a very practical way. So, like the image of the virgin, Virgo people have this discriminating and almost impenetrable nature. Virgo is ruled by Mercury the messenger of the Gods. So above all, Virgo people are very hard working, analytical, industrious. They like repetitive work so they're very detail oriented. They can notice things that most people would miss because they have a very good, precise and concise way of looking at things and people and information. So Virgos have a reputation for being perfectionists because they are. They will stick to something and work on it until they feel like it's totally perfect and they won't be satisfied until it is. On the down side, sometimes Virgo can be a little bit too caught up in the detail so they might be a little fussy, a little critical um and sometimes so bogged down on the details that they lose sight of the bigger picture and can get held back. Some famous Virgos include Cameron Diaz, Keanu Reeves, Richard Gere and Charlie Sheen

I'm a five time world champion of country dance working with artists like Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley. I really hope that you'd learn how to line dance and experience what it's like to move to America's music, and that's country music. As part of our country line dance series, we wanted to arm you with a little knowledge of country couples dancing. Chances are, you are going to go to your country bar, you going to go to your country line dance club and in between line dances, there're gonna have some couple dancing and the most popular couple dance done in United State is of course the two step. So we would like to show you a good basic version of the two step, there's a lot of regional variations but just a good basic version of country two step. We're going to start off first with the close position hold. My right hand is going to go under Nicola's left arm, so I'm going to be kind of cutting the upper part of her shoulder blade, not down here, upper part of the shoulder blade. Nicola is going to take her left arm and put it on top of my right, that's gonna kind of be just below the shoulder and just above the bicep ladies. So below the shoulder above the bicep. Then my left hand is gonna hold her right hand just very comfortable at about shoulder level, nothing too overly done or pronounced yeah. Once again, there are variations to this that you will see, this is just a good basic couple dance hold. Now I'm going to start with my left, she's going to start with her right. Two steps is made up of a series of quicks and slows, a quick is one step for one beat, a slow is one step for two beats. So if you were to do quicks, it would be quick quick quick quick quick quick quick quick. If you were to do slows, it would be slow slow slow slow right. By count of that, quicks would be 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8, slows would be 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8, so it's one step for two beats. The timing for two step is quick quick slow slow, 2 quicks 2 slows and a walking pattern. I start left she starts right, she goes back I go forward and we go quick quick slow slow, right, 2 fast 2 slow steps. We'll do that again. We're going to go quick quick slow slow and you'll just continue that pattern, quick quick slow slow, quick quick just like you're walking, quick quick slow slow, quick quick slow slow and quick quick slow slow. The thing about two step you should also know is the trivial line of dance. Line of dance kind of in every bar you will ever go into or even ballroom dancing, line of dance is counterclockwise, so you're always gonna move counterclockwise. And some floor etiquette, if there's a two step that's playing and some people are line dancing to it, you can two step around the outside. Think of it like a race track, the faster you go, the more of the outside of the floor you are. The slower you're going, the more to the inside of the floor until you get to the middle which is for line dancing. So we're going to do a little two step music for you and you can follow along at home. 5 6 7 go, quick quick slow slow, quick quick slow slow, quick quick slow slow, quick quick slow slow, quick quick slow slow. So grab your favorite lady, get off the bars cause this is two step.

I've been flying professionally for about 13 years, and now I have the pleasure of flying this Gulfstream G450 which is a lot of fun and exciting. And today I'm going to talk to you about becoming a pilot. So when getting started, one of the things that you have to consider is are you near an airport or do you have the ability to get to an airport, because that's where most flight schools are located. One thing to consider when you're researching your flight schools, is to pre-purchase some of the study materials. Most likely for the private pilot certification, you know it kind of gets you started and you're familiar with what you're going to have to deal with. Also, which is what I did, go ahead and maybe get a flight simulator for your computer and start to play with that. You know, it's not completely realistic, but they're getting pretty good. And at least again it gives you an idea of some of the things you're going to be encountering in your training. Whether you've decided you want to do this professionally or as a hobby, you do have a few options for your flight schools. Some are a more relaxed program. Some are an accelerated program. The relaxed is kind of at your own pace. The accelerated program is a very structured, rigid program. To get started with your basic certifications, if you just want to do it as a hobby some are around five thousand dollars. If you want to do it as a career, it could cost up to fifty-five/ sixty thousand dollars. It just depends on how far you want to go.

Watch more How to Teach Your Child to Read videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/460490-What-Is-Phonemic-Awareness-Reading-Lessons Hi. my name is Anne Glass. I'm a reading and learning specialist at a private school in New York City and I work with Kindergarteners through 3rd graders on Reading, Word Study, and Writing Skills. In addition to be a reading specialist and learning specialist, I'm also a parent and today I'm going to talk to you about topics in reading. Phonological or phonemic awareness is a crucial factor which predicts how easily your child will develop early reading skills. It has to do with developing a sensitivity to the sound structure in oral language. At its most sophisticated level, it means phonemic awareness. Phonological awareness is the bigger umbrella which subsumes phonemic awareness. Phonological awareness can refer to noticing the words in a sentence, the syllables in a multi-syllabic word, and phonemic awareness is much more specific to the individual sounds in a single word. We call these individual sounds, phonemes. Phonemic awareness is something that develops over time and can, in fact, be taught and should be taught. Phonemes are the very smallest units of sound in words. For example, in the word bug, there are 3 phonemes. Bu-uh-ga. A child with sophisticated phonemic awareness would be able to substitute the bu- for ha, to get the word, hug, and she will also know that the initial sound changed, but the rest of the word didn't. When children receive explicit instruction in phonemic awareness, including rhyming games and substitution and segmenting tasks with individual phonemes, they are much more successful than their same peers who did not receive similar instruction.

In this video, music teacher Marcus Milius teaches you how to play a chromatic harmonica. "Hi, my name is Marcus Milius. I play harmonica. I got a degree at the University of Southern California, a Bachelor's of Music, in Jazz Studies - Chromatic Harmonica. I play and teach harmonica here in New York City, and I'm happy to show you what I do. Alright, so playing the chromatic harmonica, you'll first need a chromatic harmonica, rather than a diatonic harmonica. The technique is pretty basic. Once you get a single note on a diatonic, the same technique applies to the chromatic. The only difference is, you have a slide on the chromatic harmonica, to get you the notes that you ordinarily bend or over-blow to on the diatonic. That makes it a lot easier to hit notes that aren't in the key, you simply press the button and it sharps any note up a half step. So, if you have a C, it sharps up to a C sharp, D, up to a D sharp. So all notes will sharp up a half step when you press the slide. The thing that does make that difficult is playing in C is very easy but playing in other keys means you have to locate the correct notes and know when not to press in the slide and when to press in the slide. So, each scale, each key is very different. So, here would be a major sound in several keys. So, each key is a different pattern that you have to learn. You can do some bending on the chromatic, it doesn't sound quite as bluesy as when you do it on the diatonic."

So what we're going to do is take a couple of the strums we had already and we're going to put them together. The first strum we did is, baa, baa baa, baa baa. Put that aside for a second. The third strum we did is, down, down down, up, up down, down. So we're going to kind of smoosh those together and, when we do, it sounds like this. Down, down, up, up down, up down, down. The first half is sort of like that first strum and the second half is sort of like that third strum. Right? So, baa, baa baa, baa baa, da daa, da. Down, down, up, up down, up down, down. Now, this doesn't come up as much as the first strum or as much as the third strum, but it does come up. Down, down, up, up down, up down, down. Let's try to do that with some of the chords we know. We have G, E minor, C, and D. They all sound nice together. So here we go. I'm going to do that strum once on G. Down, down, up, up down, up down, down. Then I'm going to move to E minor and do the same thing. Down, down, up, up down, up down, down. Now how about C? C is the hard one to get to but hopefully you're getting used to it now. Down, down, up, up down, up down, down. And then D. Down, down, up, up down, up down, down. So, let's try to put it all together. This time I'm going to do it and I'm not going to stop. Down, up, down. Let's try to go around again. So we have G. E minor. C. And D. And then we'll finish off on G. And there you go. That could be another variation of the strums we know.

Women want two main things, we want to be complimented and we want to know that you're listening to us. And these are prime ways to flirt with a girl Number one, make eye contact with her. If you're shifty and looking around she's not really going to take you seriously, but a few seconds with sustained eye contact, maybe three seconds, and then smile and look away then look back...Still gets me even at this age, of 17, that's how old I am. Also, make sure you compliment her, but make it sincere. Don't be like, nice ass, don't do that. Say, Oh Jenna, I really like your dress, looks good on you. Again, even at this age that blows me away. Something sincere shows that you're paying attention to her. Also, bring up something that she might have mentioned before, Hey Jenna, how was your lacrosse game? Did you guys win? It shows that you're listening to her. This makes her think that you're taking an interest in her life, and that's what women really want. Maybe give her a little sweet touch, not on the fanny, not on the panty. Touch her elbow gently as you're talking to her, as you're walking away, not a punch in the elbow either, that's a little too bro, so a nice sweet gentle touch, a compliment, and something that shows that you're listening to her. The three main things you need to flirt with a girl, and be successful.

Step 1: Pick the right breed Pick the right breed of dog. German shepherds and Doberman Pinschers make the best guard dogs due to their protective nature. However, even gentle dogs can be good guard dogs with the proper training. Tip Remember that guard dogs are a form of security, like an alarm, but they are not attack dogs. Step 2: Socialize your dog Socialize your dog before beginning guard-dog training. Socialization is the process of getting the dog used to loud noises, such as traffic and thunderstorms, and getting them to recognize family and friends. This way the dog will be able to discern between normal and threatening scenarios. Step 3: Begin basic obedience training Give your dog basic obedience training. Going to classes and teaching your dog to follow basic obedience rules will establish you as the leader. Tip Start your dog's training at an early age. This gives the dog a better chance to learn new things before developing bad habits. Step 4: Practice positive reinforcement Practice positive reinforcement. Reward your dog with treats for good behavior and ignore them completely when they behave badly. Step 5: Identify property boundaries Identify property boundaries to your dog during their guard-dog training. Train your dog to recognize your property as their territory. Use positive reinforcement to drive this point. Step 6: Control barking Control your dog's barking. Using positive reinforcement, train your dog to bark when someone comes on to your property and to stop barking when given a specific command. Step 7: Be consistent Be consistent. The most important thing to remember when training your dog is to be consistent with your commands and the way you say them. This will help your dog understand you better, and will improve the results of their guard-dog training. Did You Know? Dogs have been man's best friend for an estimated 15,000 years, when Eurasian gray wolves were domesticated.

So, I cannot wait to share it with you guys. A question that I often get is what is the difference between cardio and strength training, which is better and how do I incorporate both? There's no easy way to answer that question, but the difference between cardio and strength training is that one is aerobic, which is cardio and one is anaerobic. During aerobic exercise, the body draws on glycogen and/or fat for energy. During anaerobic exercise, the body cannot draw easily on fat stores. The mistake that people often make is that they'll do their cardio workout before their strength training workout. If you think about it, from a common sense perspective, why is that bad? Well, if you exhaust your legs by running or on the elliptical or whatever, then you try and go lift heavy weights or do squats or any other weight bearing activity, you're already going to be fatigued from doing your cardio first. That said, you should always warm up, but you only need five to ten minutes. Now, if you do your cardio after your strength training workout, the body is depleting its glycogen source. So, it's drawing on glycogen because it can't draw on fat. Okay, great, you power through your strength-training anaerobic workout. Now you move on to your cardio. But what's going to happen is because you've, hopefully, depleted your glycogen stores when you were doing your anaerobic workout, when you go to do your aerobic workout, the body goes, "Hmm, let me go to the fat stores for energy." Ideally, in the best case scenario, that's what's going to happen. During your anaerobic strength-training routine, if you're working on a specific muscle group or a specific body area, let's say you're working on your lower body, you're doing some heavier leg work and there's weights involved, and your legs are tired after that strength-training workout, for your cardio following that, if you're going to do cardio following that, you don't want to go do high intensity interval sprints. Because your legs are already tired and that can increase your risk of injury. Ideally, you want to separate. The cardio that you do, you don't want it to be focused on the same body parts that you just worked during your strength-training workout, if you're going to do those two things back to back. If you're working on your upper body, don't go sit on the rowing machine afterwards because your upper body is already tired. So, just use common sense. That's a little tip. Aerobic activity isn't just for burning fat. There are different types of cardio that you can do. You can do high intensity intervals. For fat burning, you can do long lengths of running. If you're a marathoner, half-marathoner, a lot of people who do that. That's not something that's necessarily for fat burning, or muscle toning, but that's more to increase your endurance and stamina exercise. There's different types of cardio that you can do. There's high impact cardio, which would be running, and there's low impact cardio, which would be something like swimming, which is safe for anyone and great if you're rehabbing or you have an injury. So, lots of different types of cardio to do. Obviously, you saw on our other videos, lots of different types of strength training that you can do to increase muscle mass, you can do strength training to burn fat, you can do strength training just to get stronger and more fit. So, there's no one reason to do any of those things and that's the beauty of it. You need both cardio and strength training to round out your fitness routine. One is not better than the other. They're just different. Your body responds differently and you need them both. So, get to work.

Step 1: Dress to ski Before you head to the slopes, make sure you're dressed properly. Wear several layers of warm clothes, thick socks, waterproof pants, a hat or headband, ski gloves or mittens, and a ski jacket. Tip Wear protective sunglasses or goggles to protect your eyes from the glare of both the sun and the snow. Step 2: Get equipped Buy or rent ski equipment: skis, poles, and boots with bindings. Have a professional ski tuner select the right length and type of ski for you, and have them adjust the bindings--which keep your ski boots attached to your skis--for your weight and beginner status. Tip In general, beginners should rent ski equipment, as your needs will change as you improve. Eventually, once you’re skiing a lot and know what you want, you can buy. Step 3: Start out slowly Begin on a flat surface. Get the feel of the skis by slowly walking around, knees slightly bent. Slide one ski ahead of the other, avoiding the temptation to lean backwards. Step 4: Head to the bunny slope Once you feel comfortable in your skis, head to the smallest hill, or 'bunny slope.' Here you’ll probably find a 'rope tow' to hold onto--or a conveyor belt called a 'magic carpet' to stand on--that will get you to the top of the hill. Keep your skis straight as you’re heading up! Tip Consider taking lessons; it’s the best way to learn. Step 5: Position yourself When you reach the top of the bunny hill, position your skis so they are facing across the slope of the hill, not down it. You don’t want your skis taking off before you’re ready! Step 6: Form the snowplow Practice the snowplow, or wedge, position. With your legs slightly bent and your weight on the balls of your feet, bring the tips of your skis together and the tails of your skis apart--like an upside down 'V.' Step 7: Begin to move downhill Gently point your skis down the hill. Keeping them in the wedge position will prevent you from picking up too much speed. Let yourself slowly glide down the hill, widening the angle of your wedge if you need to slow down. Tip If you fall--and you will!--get up with your skis facing across the slope. Step 8: Practice turning Once you’re comfortable snowplowing, you’re ready to start turning. Simply shift your weight onto the ski opposite the direction you want to turn. For example, to turn right, shift your weight onto your left ski. Stay in your wedge! Step 9: Keep turning To avoid coming to a stop, turn in one direction, then the other. Proceed down the hill in this lazy zigzag fashion. Step 10: Slow down and stop Now practice slowing down and stopping. To slow down, bend your knees and shift your weight forward, widening your wedge. To stop, initiate a turn and follow through until your skis are perpendicular to the direction of the slope. You will naturally come to a stop. Tip If you ever feel out of control, it is always better to squat down and fall on your side than to run into another person or object. Step 11: Practice Continue gliding, turning, slowing, and stopping in the snowplow position. Before you know it, you’ll be bidding the bunny slope goodbye forever! Did You Know? In 1970, Yuichiro Miura of Japan became the first person to ski on Mt. Everest, and in 2003, when he was 70, became the oldest person to reach its summit.

Watch more How to Understand Personal Finance Terms videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/491846-What-Is-a-Pension-Financial-Terms You may have access to a pension through your employer, and what a pension basically is, is a guarantee from your employer to pay you a certain amount of monthly income when you retire for the rest of your life. So that's terrific! I mean, it's hard to save enough money on your own for retirement but this type of employer benefit really can help you meat your retirement goals. So how does it work? Basically, based on the number of years, that you worked there, your age or salary, a whole bunch of different things, your employer is going to determine what kind of benefit you're going to get. So let me give you an example: let's say I make 15.000 dollars a year from my job and I'm getting ready to retire. But I've been there a long time and my employer, based on their pension agreement will say: "you know what? We'll going to pay you a pension when you retire. We're going to pay you 20.000 dollar per year for the rest of your life." So certainly, it's not what I was making but it's a big component of my retirement income when compared with my own saving and maybe some money from social security that can help me live at the standard of living I was used to in retirement. Now, there's two big decisions people have to make with the pension. Number one: you have to decide when are you going to start collecting it. Sometimes there's a range of ages when your eligible to collect the pension and if you collect it early that's good because you're getting the money sooner but you're usually getting a smaller benefit amount, and that's not going to change. The other decision you have to make is what type of pension option you want to choose. If I'm getting 20.000 dollar a year in pension for the rest of my life what happens if I pass away two weeks after I retire. Is all that money wasted? Can any of that money go to my wife, my children or other beneficiary? So sometimes there are a variety of pension options that you can choose from with fancy sounding names like 15% or 75% or 100% survival options and all that really means that you're making a decision. Do I want more money today for income and I leave less to somebody else or am I willing to take a little less income to provide some protection for family members of other beneficiary. Keep in mind, most pensions have gone away from a lot of employees during thought economic times for companies and other government organizations. But if you still have a pension you want to make sure you evaluate where that falls into your overall retirement plan and that you make those decisions I talked about in a way that makes the most amount of sense for your situation.

Watch more How to Understand Zodiac Signs videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/457732-How-to-Understand-Cancer-Horoscope-Sign-Zodiac-Signs Love to read your horoscope? Lawrence Grecco has been practicing astrology for more than 20 years. In this video, he talks about the personality traits common in people born under the Cancer sign. My name is Lawrence Grecco. I live in New York City, and I'm a Life Coach and an Astrologer. I've been practicing Astrology for over 20 years. You can check out my website at zenrising.com. I'm here to talk to you today about Horoscopes. So the fourth sign of the Zodiac is Cancer, so if you were born between June 21st and July 22nd, then you're a Cancer. Cancer is represented by the crab, and what's really interesting about the symbol of the crab is that crabs can run and walk sideways, so they have this very indirect way of traveling about, and like the crab, Cancers have a very indirect way of approaching life. And the crab has a shell and will often withdraw into its shell if it feels at all threatened or unsafe. So just the way a crab will withdraw into its shell, so will a Cancer person withdraw if it feels at all unsafe or threatened. Cancer is ruled by the moon, which has a very clear and direct impact on the tides. So above all, Cancers are very focused on seeking security through things that are familiar and comfortable, so this could be through family, through friends, through their relationship. Issues of home are very important to Cancer, as are issues of the past and history. Anything that has to do with time and history are very much emphasized for Cancer. So Cancer people are very, very sensitive people, they're very domestic, they often like to cook, or food figures in prominently with Cancer people, and they can be the most nurturing sign of the Zodiac. Some of the potentially negative traits of Cancer is that they can tend to be passive-aggressive, indirect, overly emotional, overly sensitive, and even whiny sometimes. Some famous Cancers include George W. Bush, Princess Diana, Robin Williams and Tom Hanks.

At least go down fighting. Step 1: Check the rules See if your school has a grade-changing policy. Many schools provide a 'Request for Grade Change' form you can print and fill out before meeting with a professor. If it’s not online, try your school’s department secretary. Step 2: Prepare your argument Prepare a solid case as to why your grade is unfair. If you truly deserved a bad grade, few teachers are likely to be moved that you’re upset about it--but if you have a reasonable argument, they’ll probably listen. Tip If you are challenging a grade on a particular test, double-check the exam to make sure a mistake was made before you go barging into your professor’s office with nostrils flaring. Step 3: Be polite No matter how little respect or affection you have for your teacher, do your best to come across as humble and respectful. No teacher is going to change a grade for a snotty student. Step 4: Stay on track Stay on track when presenting your argument. You want to make a convincing case for why you deserve a higher grade on this one test or in this one class, not whine about school in general. Tip Never say, 'If you change my grade, I promise I won’t tell anyone.' This isn’t spy school. Step 5: Turn the tables If the discussion has come to an impasse, calmly ask the teacher, 'What would you do if you were me?' This little trick can help the professor see the situation from your point of view. Step 6: Ask for another chance If all else fails, ask your teacher if you can raise your grade by completing an extra assignment. Did You Know? With three-quarters of American college professors describing themselves as liberal, some conservative students complain that they are given unfair grades because of their political leanings.
